Answered ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we
collect, why, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. Answered is a
private prayer journal that helps you write prayers, track outcomes, and pray
with groups.
We do not sell your personal information or your prayers. We do not show
advertising. We use no third-party advertising, attribution, or analytics
SDKs — there is no Facebook SDK, no Google Analytics, no Firebase, no Sentry,
and no ad identifier collection in this app.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information: When you sign up (with email, Apple, or Google), we
collect your email address and name. Sign in with Apple may relay a private
email address instead of your real one.
- Your content: The prayers, reflections, notes, outcomes, life verse, and
prayer categories you create. Prayers you choose to share to a group are
visible to that group's members.
- Group information: Group names, membership, an optional group logo image
you upload, and prayers shared within the group.
Information collected automatically
- Anonymous app analytics: To understand how many people who install
Answered go on to finish onboarding or create an account, we record a small
set of milestone events — app opened, onboarding viewed, welcome viewed,
continued as guest, signed up, signed in. Each event is stored with a
random identifier generated on your device, your platform (iOS or
Android) and the app version. This identifier is not your name, email,
advertising ID, or device ID, and we cannot use it to identify you. It is
created once per installation and is erased when you delete the app.
- Subscription events: When you start a trial, subscribe, renew, or cancel,
our payment provider notifies us and we record the event type, product,
price, store, and dates. We deliberately discard the personal attributes
(such as email, display name, or phone number) that the provider echoes back,
because we do not need them.
- Device push token: If you enable prayer reminders, we store the push token
your device issues so we can deliver notifications. It is tied to your
account and deleted when you delete your account or disable notifications.
- IP address (short-lived, abuse prevention only): Our AI features are rate
limited. When a request arrives from someone who is not signed in, the rate
limiter records the request's IP address so the same source cannot exhaust
the free allowance. These records are automatically purged after 24 hours and
are never used for profiling, tracking, or advertising.
We do not collect your location, contacts, calendar, health data, browsing
history, or advertising identifiers.
How your information is stored and protected
- Your data is stored with Supabase (PostgreSQL) and protected by
Row-Level Security, so each account can only access its own data. This is
enforced by the database itself, not only by the app.
- Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest.
- Your prayers are private by default and are never shared unless you post
them to a group.
Third-party services we use
We share data only with the service providers needed to run the app:
